COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Update

Your safety comes first at Pine Needles & Mid Pines

Per Governor Cooper’s Executive Order, face masks are required to be worn as of June 26, 2020, when people are out in pubic places, indoors or outdoors, and where social distancing of 6 feet is not possible. Face masks will be available for purchase at the front desk or golf shop at either property.

To do our part in preventing the spread of COVID-19 in our community and workplace, we are restricting access to Pine Needles Lodge & Golf Club and Mid Pines Inn & Golf Club from anyone with knowledge that they have a COVID-19 infection or have recently been exposed to the virus. If you are planning a visit to our properties, please read our Guest Health Attestation.

Update May 7, 2020

Pine Needles and Mid Pines remains a retreat for golfers from all over and is now committed to a new standard in cleanliness throughout the resorts. We are all living a new age, and we want to do our part to adapt to a new way of operating with our guest’s, member’s and associate’s health and safety at our forefront. We want every guest to see and feel our increased focus on the cleanliness of our facilities and social distancing when they step onto our properties. We have updated a few aspects of your experience on property to ensure safety with maintaining an unforgettable golf experience.

All Pine Needles and Mid Pines associates will pass a health check, including having their temperature taken on-site, prior to each shift. Each associate also will receive training on COVID-19 safety and sanitation protocols, and receives a daily checklist that requires them to clean and disinfectant their areas throughout the day. All common areas, including restrooms, will be disinfected several times throughout the day. Door handles, handrails, restrooms, common areas, flat surfaces, phones, TV remotes and more are being cleaned with hospital-grade disinfectant regularly.

Hand sanitizer is readily available throughout the resort, but we also ask that each guest brings their own to use while golfing or enjoying time off site. Plexiglass barriers have been installed around the resort where there is guest and staff interaction, including the front desk, golf shop, bar and shuttles. Social Distancing practices including, table spacing, line spacing, limiting group congregation, etc. have been implemented.

Golf Operations

The golf shops at Pine Needles and Mid Pines are limited to four guests at any time to allow for social distancing, and a barrier shield has been placed at the counter to provide an additional layer of protection to our guests and associates. Our golf staff will contact all golfers in advance to encourage pre-payment for all golf rounds to limit contact as much as we can.

      • Bunker rakes have been removed from all bunkers. Please use your feet to smooth the sand the best you can. You and your group may wish to improve lies in the bunkers during this period.
      • Carts are sanitized after every use. We encourage single riders in a cart, or for golfers to ride scooters or walk if possible.
      • On course restrooms are being sanitized several times each day.

We also encourage each golfer to take measures to be mindful of everyone’s safety.

      • Avoid pre- and post-round gatherings, handling someone else’s clubs and replace handshakes and hugs with new traditions – consider elbow bumps, shoe bumps or the namaste bow.
      • Keep at least six feet away from your playing partners.
      • Stock your golf bag with hand sanitizer and use it regularly.

Lodging

To ensure the safety of our associates and other guests, we ask that all guests take their own temperature before traveling to Pine Needles and Mid Pines, and stay home if you have a fever or are sick. We also reserve the right to take the temperature of any guest upon arrival, and will do so with a no-contact thermometer.

        • All linen will be changed after every guest’s stay, whether it was used or not. Dirty linen will be bagged in the guest room to eliminate excess contact while being transported to the laundry facility.
        • Each guest room is cleaned with hospital-grade disinfectant, with particular attention paid to high-touch areas. Our housekeeping staff takes every precaution while cleaning your room, including wearing gloves and a mask. A seal is placed on each door signifying no one has entered after it has been cleaned.
        • To ensure the safety of our guests and associates, we are no longer offering daily housekeeping.
        • New towels are available to guests by request and will be delivered in single-use, sealed bags.
        • Our in-room coffee makers and drinkware have been removed to lessen “touch points” for your safety. If you would like coffee in the morning, please contact our front desk, and we will arrange a no-contact delivery to your room.
        • All housekeeping carts, products and equipment are sanitized before and after each shift.
