The Evolution of a Classic
Near the village of Pinehurst, North Carolina
Southern Pines Golf Club

Open for play in 1906, Southern Pines Golf Club is one of Donald Ross’s earliest original designs and a standout among golf courses near Pinehurst. Winding around a series of knolls and ridges, the course showcases some of the most dramatic terrain in the Sandhills, making it difficult to tell where nature’s design ends and Ross’s begins. At 6,500 yards, this historic golf club in North Carolina offers a rewarding challenge for players of every skill level.
Open to members, guests, and the public, Southern Pines Golf Club welcomes play throughout the year, with peak seasons running from mid-March to mid-May and mid-September through October. One of the most accessible steps from downtown southern Pines and a short drive from Pinehurst, it’s open seven days a week, with closures only on select holidays and scheduled maintenance days.
